Cabbage Soup Diet Farts

i'm doing one called fat burner foods. it's soup based and first time i lost 12lbs in 2 weeks. it's quite easy veg soup for luch and tea but some days you can have a lean steak, others a baked pot with salsa. breakfast is generally fruit. i added yog to mine and still lost weight. i do it every so often to lose a bit more (am 3stone over weight but can only seem to stick to anything for about a fortnight!)

this is kitsisverysorry BTw

I did manage to stick to it for 1 week and I lost 10 pounds, but no more I'm afraid. The farts were indeed vile and I just couldn't face holding my nose anymore whilst I downed the damned soup, although I did take it very literally and included celery (which I hate with a passion), but even I couldn't stomach the plain brown rice yeuch. Good for a short term fix though it really does work.

6 weeks is plenty of time to loose quite a bit of weight just by sensible eating though.

Will he still want to marry you after all those cabbage soup farts.

My mil did the cabbage soup diet once, she reckoned she lost tons of weight through food poisoning as its the same old manky pan of soup she kept eating for a week, YUK.

And you can't drink on it, apparently that causes heartburn far far worse than anything you ever experienced before in your life.

So why does it have to be cabbage or celery soup? Almost any vegetable soup would do it, may be it will take slightly longer but you'd enjoy it if you could cook any veg and the taste can be fantastic. You can snick celery in your carrot soup, you can have asparagus soup, sweet potato soup, beetroot soup, tomato soup - so many different types. you can also have veg salad so it's not just soup and some berries - people say blubberies are amazing for your waste line. Why limit yourself to just a few and then say never again when you cn do it for much longer and leave a healthy and happy life even while dieting?

I've done the cabbage soup diet but maybe I was given a different version because it wasn't just cabbage, it had celery, green peppers, leeks, tinned tomatoes and whatever packet soup you fancied to give it flavour (as long as it wasn't cream-of type). Dh made me a mulligawny one that was delicious and I still lost weight.

I know it's only a quick fix (and I did get to my target at SW so know about the healthy eating thing) but I find that a few days of it destroys my craving for sweet things when it starts getting out of control (ie not being able to open a packet of choccy biscuits without scoffing the lot ).

Also, it doesn't make me fart but I do wee an awful lot!

I'm glad you mention the last bit, Pixel. It effects me a great deal but i think the veg soup diet is the wonderful diet. It really helps and I'd like to have it often for pleasure, apart from the wee business which makes me visit the loo every 20 minutes sometimes and it's hard in the night time so may be i have soup every other day or so and have just 2 portions to have pleasure without suffering.

How to Deal With the Cabbage Soup Diet

This is the gist of the Cabbage Soup Diet plan. Although the diet may look and sound simple (as it is designed to be simple), following it to the letter is very difficult. The diet requires commitment and dedication and people without these two will experience a lapse in the diet often eating and feeling guilty about it afterwards.

Eat all of the fruit you want (except bananas). You can also have as much of the cabbage soup as you want. Drink water, fruit juices and unsweetened teas.

Eat any type of vegetable you want (except corn, peas or beans), raw or cooked. Eat more of the leafy vegetables and have your fill of your cabbage soup. You can have a baked potato in the evening. Do not eat fruit today.

Eat all the fruit and vegetables you want but no baked potato at the end of the day.

Today, you are allowed as many as eight bananas, all the skimmed milk you want and your cabbage soup. No baked potato today either.

You can have ten to twenty ounces of beef and six tomatoes. Drink at least eight glasses of water which will wash the uric acid from your body. Also, as an alternative to beef, you can have skinless chicken, preferably broiled or baked or fish. Remember to eat your cabbage soup at least once a day.

Today, you can have as much beef (or chicken or fish) and cabbage soup at least once a day.

The cabbage soup can be eaten only once today along with brown rice, unsweetened fruit juices and vegetables. You can stuff yourself with these foods to your heart's content.

The diet is a very strict one so if you plan to lose the weight, be realistic about it and expect it to be difficult. You can also expect to shed almost ten pounds if you adhere to it. To help you deal with the diet, here are a few tips straight from Cabbage Soup Dieters:

1. Be prepared to have your kitchen and probably your whole house stinking of cabbage. You will be eating cabbage soup the whole seven days so you will have to make lots of it. Some people who have been on this diet say it tastes like Campbell Vegetable Soup which isn't pretty bad.

2. Be prepared for the gas. One disadvantage of cabbage as food is its tendency to make the dieter pass gas. Flatulence is a common side effect. It may be a little overwhelming to have the smell of cabbage and gas in the same place for seven days but you can always turn on the air ventilator.

3. Be prepared for the constant trips to the bathroom. Some fruits and vegetables have the effect of improving bowel movement and in this case, bowel movement is more than improved. Also, the water content of the fruits as well as the water you will be consuming (to relieve the feeling of hunger) will have you going to the bathroom dozens of times a day. This can however, have the added bonus of making you feel better and lighter with the toxins leaving your body faster.

The Cabbage Soup Diet: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Get the scoop behind this fast, one-week diet that’s been around for a few decades but still continues to go in and out of style.

1. What is the cabbage soup diet?

This is a short-term diet that has been around since the 1980s. It’s a very low-calorie, low-fat diet that you do for 7 days. It’s for quick, fast weight loss and you eat a lot of cabbage soup on this diet.

2. Will you lose weight on the cabbage soup diet?

Some ads claim that you will lose 10 pounds on this diet in just one week. Since this a very low-calorie diet (below medical guidelines for safe weight loss), you will most probably lose weight. Much of this weight will probably be water weight though, and not fat loss.

3. Cabbage Soup Diet Plan

You can eat as much fat-free cabbage soup as you want on this diet.

Here is a general overview of the 7 day schedule, although the menu varies depending on the book or website you’re reading:

Day 1: As much fruit (minus bananas) and cabbage soup you want.

Day 2: Cabbage soup plus any vegetables (minus starchy ones).

Day 3: Cabbage soup plus fruits and vegetables (minus potatoes and bananas)

Day 4: Cabbage soup, skim milk, and some bananas.

Day 5: Cabbage soup plus some meat and tomatoes.

Day 6: Cabbage soup plus as much beef and vegetables (minus potatoes) as you wish to eat.

Day 7: Cabbage soup plus brown rice, vegetables (minus potatoes), and fruit juice.

4. Cabbage Soup Diet Recipe

It’s an easy soup to make. Try this modified version that actually tastes good that I’ve developed for Heavy.com. It has less salt than the original, which nutritionists pointed out as a flaw in the original recipe. It also has a bit more spice and flavor, which dieters pointed out as a negative in the traditional soup.

Watch the cooking video above for an easy-to-make version of the cabbage soup or get the original cabbage soup diet recipe here.

5. Is the cabbage soup diet healthy? Should I try it?

This is a crash diet, which means you will lose weight in a short period of time. However, the downside of crash diets is that you often gain the weight back quickly and may even gain more back than you lost. Most medical professionals do not consider this diet healthy.

Side effects of the cabbage soup diet: people on this diet have reported feeling light-headed and sometimes nauseous because of the extremely low-calorie and low-protein plan. Others have reported severe flatulence from all the cabbage.

If you are looking for fast, short-term weight loss (eg. if you just want to fit into a certain dress before an event), then this diet has has some things in common with doing 3 or 4 day juice cleanse or detox. On both of these types of diets, you will lose weight fast. The trick is keeping it off and hopefully using these short-term solutions to springboard into healthy eating.
